Delicious Apple Crumble (Vegan & Gluten Free)

Say what? An apple crumble that is vegan & gluten free. Yes please! This easy recipe can be whipped up by anyone with an oven and some apples. Enjoy it as breakfast, dessert or pre-workout fuel. I put it to the test at work and everyone loved it!

Ingredients
  • 4-5 medium sized apples, finely chopped
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ⅛ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • Optional: a handful of walnuts
  • Topping:
  • 1 cup almond flour (or any other nut flour)
  • ½ cup slivered almonds
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • optional: an additional 2 tbsp slivered almonds for topping
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celcius.
  • Step 2 Grease an oven dish with coconut oil.
  • Step 3 Mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl. Transfer to the pie dish and press down to spread evenly.
  • Step 4 Mix all topping ingredients in the mixing bowl until a crumbly texture is formed. Sprinkle this mixture over the apple mix.
  • Step 5 Bake for approx 30 minutes, until the crumble turns golden brown.
  • Step 6 Serve warm or cold with custard, (coconut) yogurt and fresh fruit.
  • Step 7 Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 days.
